FRASER MEMORIAL TT MAPLE PARK, IL APRIL 2005
MY FIRST
RACE IN PROCTOR CYCLING TEAM COLORS FOR THE PEORIA BIKE CLUB!
The race season kicked off today with the John Fraser Memorial Time Trial in Maple Park,
Ilinois. The event that usually accomodates 100-120 riders saw record turn-out with over 260 racers.
Sunny skies and highs
in the upper 70's made for a great day to be out on the bike. The wind was the only uncooperative factor with a strong gust
out of the south-southeast at 11mph making riders dig deep on the last leg of the TT.
I placed 2nd for my age group and
category with a 24:34:85 for the CM 30-39. Kelly Sparks also from Proctor went hard and placed 1st for the AM3 category with
a time of 22:14:67. A great Proctor showing at the TT!
WEDNESDAY NIGHT TIME TRIALS IN CHILLICOTHE
MEET AT THE INTERSECTION OF BEACH AND CLOVERDALE NEAR SHORE ACRES. GREAT 10 MILE OUT AND BACK AGAINST THE
CLOCK. EMAIL FOR DETAILS.
ARMSTRONG SIGHTING.....
While I Was Racing The TT---Lance Armstrong showed up at the Lemire
Grand Prix in Calif. Lance joined 70 Pro 1/2 riders finishing 15th in the field.
